MJF is the reigning AEW World Champion. He won this title by defeating Darby Allin at Double or Nothing 2026’s main event. The Salt of the Earth is one of the most recognisable faces in the modern professional wrestling landscape. He is a brilliant in-ring competitor, and Tony Khan has immense faith in him.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman successfully defended his title against Rush on the June 3 episode of Dynamite. Unfortunately, he got injured during this showdown. The Salt of the Earth hurt his knee. But thankfully, it was not serious.
WON’s Dave Meltzer recently confirmed that Friedman’s injury happened because he hyperextended his knee when Rush hit him with a bull’s horn. Big Hebrew recently revealed on Instagram that his knee is much better. The inflammation has reduced, and he is feeling much better.
“Very recently, I have hurt my left knee. I hyperextended it in a match against RUSH, who is a bad person. I think we all agree on that. And honestly, this match happened on Wednesday. It is now, I believe, Tuesday? And my inflammation in my knee has drastically gone down. Obviously, there’s still a s**t ton of inflammation and pain, but being honest with myself, without this cold plunge, I do believe it would have took me a lot longer to start feeling like myself,” he said.
AEW World Champion MJF says that he dislikes people who say that his hair is not real
In a recent interview with TV Insider, MJF said that his hair means everything to him. He also said that he resents people who say that his hair is fake.
“I’m not going to walk around bald. I can’t think of a worse fate. It’s not going to happen. I don’t even like talking about it quite frankly. I resent people that claim my hair isn’t real. That’s absurd. My hair is very real. Just as real as my Dynamite Diamond ring, my mansion, and as real as my very hot flexible wife,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for MJF. Hopefully, his World Title reign will be lengthy.
