Mandatory Credit: Melissa Tamez-Imagn Images The Chicago Fire loaned homegrown defender Christopher Cupps to Scotland’s Greenock Morton FC on Monday.
The loan runs through the end of 2026, with Chicago retaining the right to recall the teenager at any point.
“We are excited to see Christopher continue to develop during the rest of the year in a new and challenging environment,” Fire sporting director Gregg Broughton said. “He has a very high potential and promising future at the Chicago Fire and has stepped up to every challenge he has faced so far. Playing competitive matches during the rest of the year will only help him mature as a player and as a person.”
Cupps, 18, has appeared in six matches (three starts) for the Fire over the past two seasons.
